Equipment

barbell, plates, adjustable bench

  1. Set a stable incline bench and lie chest-down with your feet supported on the floor. Use a setup with clearance for the bar throughout the movement.
  2. Hold the bar with an overhand grip slightly wider than your shoulders, arms hanging below your chest.
  3. Keep your chest on the pad and draw your elbows back, bringing the bar toward your lower ribs without contacting the bench frame.
  4. Lower the bar under control until your arms are long. Keep your head aligned with your trunk.

Choose a comfortable range and use secure equipment. The illustration is a movement reference; stop if a movement causes pain.
